In an effort to reach out to local creative people and provide a venue for those who are talented with words, we host poetry slams. You can perform by doing one of two things. You may also sign up at the bar at any time a week prior to the slam. Please be aware that our atmosphere can get loud, but you will be provided with a microphone. We cannot stop making drinks for our guests during poetry, so if steaming milk and blenders will cramp your poetic style, prepare to be cramped. All spoken word must be withen PG-13 guidelines and no hate speech. Contestants have 3 minutes to present their original poetry. A panel of judges will then determine a winner! Audience members are encouraged to not only sit back and enjoy, but to react to what they are hearing throughout the event!
