Celebrating the Craft 2025

(CANTON, OH)-September 26th, 2025-Muggswigz Coffee and Tea invites the community to Celebrating the Craft, a free event honoring the creativity and skill behind local crafts and food. Join us on Friday, October 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Canton at 137 Walnut Avenue, Northeast Canton, Ohio 44702. 2nd Street will be closed for vendor booths and activities. Attendees can enjoy live demonstrations and hands-on workshops throughout the day. Explore local artisan crafts, delicious foods, pumpkin carving make and take, and engage in interactive demos, all while celebrating the talent and creativity of Canton’s community. Food Science Scholarship

CANTON OH (January 26th, 2024)- Baristas and staff at Muggswigz Coffee and Tea Company, have donated all year to their Charitable Donation Program and have decided to endow a Food Science Scholarship with the funds. This yearly scholarship will provide $500 to a local applicant, with no restrictions on how it is spent.
    This is the 7th year in a row that Muggswigz baristas have contributed and donated to a charity or organization of their choice. Each year the voluntary donations from the staff are matched 10% by the company and put into a pool to be donated to an organization/program based on popular vote at the end of the year. 
Applicable for the Food Science Scholarship must meet terms and conditions such as:
1) Applicant must have been living within a 5 mile radius of any Muggswigz location
2) Applicant must plan on going into the food science or culinary field
3) Applicant must be newly accepted into a college, university, or culinary school

Celebrating 20 Years!

CANTON OH-(March 28th, 2023)- Muggswigz Coffee and Tea Company celebrates their 20th year in business this April, 2023. Opening the shop in 2003, Founder and President, Alex Haas, sought to make Downtown Canton a ‘Destination Spot’ and revitalize the area with a shop serving specialty coffee, tea, baked goods, and supporting local artists. The company has come a long way since then, going from not having an ice maker and roasting coffee with a popcorn maker, to award winning roasted coffees, barista teams, and yes, a commercial ice machine. To celebrate, Muggswigz has a special line up of ways to celebrate, and want the community who supported them and kept them around to join in.
    For the month of April, every Wednesday, all drinks will be 39% off, the percentage representing the cumulative rate of inflation since 2003.  Muggswigz is bringing back drink specials from the early days, including the ‘Rocky Orange’, ‘Cafe Con Leche’, and Turkish Coffee.  On Tuesday evenings, there will be special Open Mic Night Performers (see the Facebook group for more details) and songs dating to or before 2003 are encouraged.  On April 3rd, Muggswigz will host a Poetry Open Mike Night.  A community art project will be available to be on display and open for all guests, as well as previous years’ community art projects on display.
